Mizavie

Mizavie is a dual-type Fairy/Ground Mythical Fakemon originally intended for my discontinued Fakemon project, Pokémon HeavenEarth Version.

Classification: Flying Mouse Fakemon | Length: 1’ 4” | Weight: 8 lbs.

Behavior: This magical and elusive Fakemon nests in sandy areas. It drags its feathered tail behind it to draw intricate patterns in the sand. When spotted, it distracts the onlooker by stirring up these sand drawings with its wing-like ears, revealing colorful illusions.

In Folklore: Mizavie's feathers are imbued with magic. It's said that sand collected from its nest has medicinal properties and that a feather from its tail can cure any illness.

Origin: Mizavie is loosely based on gliding mammals, such as the long-eared flying mouse Idiurus macrotis and feathertail glider Acrobates pygmaeus. It also draws inspiration from desert jackrabbits. The process of making and destroying its own sand art is based on the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of sand mandalas.

Name Meaning: Mizavie is a corruption of the Croatian word for mouse, miševi.
