EDIT: Updated the Shiny versions. Piwirm is based on early instar caterpillars, Whirlibug on dried helicopter seeds, and Aromoth a combination of the purplish and pale varieties of the Rosy Maple Moth.

EDIT 2: Changed the template, inspired somewhat by the old Bandai Pokémon cards.
